Regional material handling leader quadruples size to increase inventory, training opportunities, and bring new jobs to Salinas.

September 28, 2021 - Toyota Material Handling Northern California, a leading supplier of material handling equipment, training, and equipment service, broke ground today on a new facility in Salinas, California.

The new TMHNC facility is a world-class 37,000 square foot, 2-building facility on 2.5 acres. Centrally located in the heart of the agricultural Monterey County community, the new location will have ample space for the TMHNC team to deliver an even better customer experience. Plans featuring a dedicated equipment showroom, training and demonstration center, spacious technician bays, parts department, and a large yard and storage warehouse will support an increased equipment inventory for customers’ growing equipment and service needs.

“After 25 years of history in our current facility, we have helped numerous businesses with countless pieces of equipment. We’re excited to take the next step and deliver even greater service from our new headquarters in Salinas,” says Stephen Andres, TMHNC Vice President, and COO.

The new facility’s location in Salinas puts TMHNC in an ideal position to serve the businesses of Monterey County as well as the surrounding area, which produces over 50% of US lettuce, celery, and other key produce. TMHNC’s new location will create new job opportunities in the area, as well as deliver a modern, spacious setting with the highest standard of safety, efficiency, comfort and fulfillment.

“We’re amazed when we look at how much business and how many forklifts have moved through our current facility. Our new property has been a long time in the making and we thank our team for their hard work and patience as well as West Star Construction and the City of Salinas for their support in getting this project off the ground,” says Mark Andres, President, and CEO of Toyota Material Handling Northern CA.

The project is on track to be completed by June of 2022. Pictured from left to right; Rich Andres, Chairman and his wife Joanne, Mark Andres, President/CEO, and his brother Stephen Andres, Vice President and COO. To learn more about TMHNC, please click here.
