Ever heard of a forklift that's old enough to vote or order a drink at a bar?  No, Toyota hasn't invented sentient forklifts, but, some of our customers have forklifts that are 18, 21, even 40+ years old and still going strong.

When you buy a Toyota forklift, you're making a smart investment in equipment that can last for years, and even decades if well-maintained. It's true, you'll pay more for a Toyota upfront, but you'll quickly lose that savings (and more) when that "cheaper" forklift needs to be repaired or replaced after just a few years.

Below are stories from two Toyota forklift owners in the Bay Area and Central Valley. You can read more stories by checking out our Garage of Champions series.

Do you have a Toyota forklift that's 25 years old - or older?  We'd love to share your story, drop us a line.

Their 1985 Toyota forklift has more than 30,000 hours and still runs like a champ. The lift gets used 3-4 hours every day to load and unload trucks and stack solar panels.

Kevin Ward, a third-generation honey bee farmer, migrated from Wanganui New Zealand to Willows, California in 1977 and has been using his trusty 2-Series Toyota pneumatic forklift ever since. Depending on the season, the forklift gets used 10 minutes a day to all day, moving  honey bee hives, and loading packaged honey. classic 1970s toyota forklift still runningThe forklift's hour meter currently shows 8167 hours,  but Kevin says it's started over several times. How has Kevin kept his forklift running so long? A thorough annual service and always approving recommended repairs.

Kevin is also the proud owner of a 2005 Toyota Tacoma with more than 265,000 miles.  He shared a quote with us, "If you want to go into the bush, take anything you want, but if you want to come back out again, take a Toyota."
