Kirk Hamre - Moving to SoCal

by Mark Andres on December 13, 2018
Find me on:

Kirk_Harme_GoodbyeKirk Hamre, account manager for Alameda County has announced he and his wife are moving to Southern California in the new year. “After long consideration, my wife and I have decided to move to Orange County. My wife is from the area, and she has wanted to move back for many years. Recently, her job was restructured in a way that will allow us to make this move,” Kirk said.

Kirk’s last day with Toyota Material Handling Northern California (TMH) is Monday, December 31st. Kirk joined TMH in 2013 and has been a valued and well-respected member of our team ever since.

Kirk’s family has lived in the area for generations and he has a remarkable material handling lineage….

Kirk is a descendant of early Northern California pioneers who arrived in 1848 and settled in what would eventually be Placer County. He grew up in the material-handling industry and worked in every capacity including: truck driver, dispatcher, warranty administrator, service and parts manager and rental manager.

Kirk’s grandfather worked for Boeing in Seattle and designed material handling equipment used to build the B-17 Flying Fortress, a bomber used during WWII in Europe and the Pacific. In 1953 he purchased a material handling dealership in San Francisco that the family operated until 1997.

Kirk says he will miss living in Northern California, especially the great weather, outdoor activities and trips to the mountains. He also shared some kind words about working for TMH:

I’ve really enjoyed working at TMH over the last five years. It’s a family-owned and managed organization with a focus on customer service. The company has recruited the top material handling professionals in Northern California and equipped them with the tools and training necessary to provide the best possible experience for the customer. The Toyota product is the best in the industry and continues to be the number one selling forklift year after year. I’ve worked for a number of material handling dealerships over the last 36 years, and I have to say that TMH has been the best by far.

TMH wishes Kirk and his wife all the best on their move and new life in Orange County! Kirk's last day will be December 31st, 2018 and Dave Mills will be the point of contact for most of Kirk's former accounts. A job posting for an account manager in Livermore/Contra Costa County will be posted to our careers page soon.
